Two tractor packages can look similar while describing different equipment. An item-by-item comparison helps the buyer understand the differences before discussing the price. Begin with one agreed requirement and compare each offer against it.
Standardise the equipment description
Record the full tractor model, drive configuration and version. Give implements and accessories separate lines with their exact descriptions. Mark any product that requires a technical match to the tractor.
Keep photographs as supporting evidence and ask which pictured items belong to the quoted supply. A canopy, attachment or trailer shown in a general image should not be assumed to be included.
Compare the stated scope
- Tractor configuration and quantity.
- Included accessories and any optional alternatives.
- Inspection or condition evidence offered for the actual unit.
- Manuals and documents identified in the supply.
- Delivery or collection scope stated in the quotation.
Keep exclusions and unanswered questions visible. An offer with fewer included services cannot be compared fairly by its total alone.
Ask for clarification in one response
Send a short list of differences to the suppliers and request a revised, dated offer where needed. Avoid combining a specification from one quotation with a delivery statement from another version.
For example, one package may include an implement while another lists only the tractor. Record the implement’s specification and compatibility confirmation before deciding how to compare the offers.
